Connect to a Linux or FreeBSD VPS
Find your server access details
Open your VPS service in the client area and check its assigned public IP, selected operating system and access information. Use the credentials supplied or selected for that service. An account password for the Fasting Host website is separate from the password inside your VPS.
Connect with SSH
- Open an SSH client on your computer.
- Connect to the VPS public IP using the SSH username and port for your selected image.
- Verify the server identity before accepting a changed or unexpected host key.
- Authenticate with the service’s password, or the matching private key if you supplied an optional SSH public key.
Password-based access is supported; adding an SSH public key is optional. Keep the private key on your own device. Never paste it into a support ticket.
If the connection fails
Confirm that the VPS is powered on, the IP is correct and the operating system has finished starting. Check your local network and any guest firewall rules you changed. Use an available service console to inspect the guest, or contact support with the error text. Keep the operating system and exposed services updated.
