What are you choosing?

DV: verify domain control.

A straightforward option for websites and applications. A correctly configured DV certificate supports encrypted HTTPS, including sign-ins and transactions.

OV: add organization identity.

The issuer checks organization details as well as domain control. Useful when your project requires a verified organization in certificate details.

EV: extended identity checks.

Additional organization and authorization checks for eligible businesses. Browser presentation varies; EV does not create a green address bar or guarantee a website is safe.

Wildcard: plan hostname coverage.

A wildcard such as *.example.com normally covers one subdomain level, not nested names such as a.b.example.com. Apex and www coverage depend on the purchased package and issued SANs.

Public TLS certificates appear in permanent Certificate Transparency logs. Their domain names and, for OV/EV, validated organization details can be publicly searchable. See our SSL Certificate Policy.

From purchase to a working certificate.

  1. Choose your product and paid term. Review the total in checkout. Hosting's two-free-month annual offer applies to VPS and cPanel plans, not certificate terms.
  2. Complete domain and identity checks. Use an available DNS, HTTP/file or email validation method. OV/EV may require company records and an authorized contact. Issuance depends on successful validation, not a promised number of minutes.
  3. Install and maintain it. Eligible connected cPanel hosting can use WHMCS automation. Unmanaged VPS and external servers may require a CSR, installation and reissuance work. Keep private keys on your server; do not send them in tickets.
Does paid SSL improve encryption or Google rankings?

Free and paid certificates can both support encrypted HTTPS. Price and validation level do not by themselves make the connection faster, prove the site's content is trustworthy, or guarantee higher search rankings.

What happens when a certificate expires during a multi-year plan?

The commercial service term is separate from the validity of each issued certificate. Complete any required revalidation and reissuance, then install the new certificate before the old one expires. Check your client area and renewal notices; automation depends on the supported hosting environment and successful validation.

Can I pay with cryptocurrency or a card?
